Our 40th Year in Review

As part of Whitman-Walker’s 40th anniversary, officially January 13, 2018, we’re sharing 40 stories to help tell the narrative of the Whitman-Walker community. This week marks our 40th story in the series! As we come to the end of “40 Stories for 40 Years” let’s look back on how we celebrated this 40th year of existence since our 1978 founding as Whitman-Walker Clinic. Look below to see the Whitman-Walker community come together to recognize four decades of fighting stigma and saving lives! Special thanks to everyone who shared their time, memories, energy and stories, and thank YOU for stopping here to listen and learn from the incredible voices that make up Whitman-Walker’s past, present, and future.

For more Whitman-Walker history, look to our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @whitmanwalker. Later this fall, we’ll also be releasing a 40th anniversary TV special with local, nonprofit station DCTV! Stay tuned to our website and social media for details to come.
