Carlos Marroquin

Carlos Marroquin serves as Vice President of People Operations at Whitman-Walker, where he leads the people strategy that supports the organization’s clinicians, care teams, and mission-driven staff. His career has been built entirely within nonprofit, community health, and mission-based organizations, most recently as Executive Vice President of Administration and Chief Human Resources Officer at a Washington, DC-area federally qualified health center.

An immigrant from El Salvador, Carlos has seen firsthand the impact organizations like Whitman-Walker provide to communities in need — an experience that continues to shape how he approaches his work today. He believes that HR exists to give employees the best possible experience so they, in turn, can deliver the best possible care and services to the people who depend on them. Throughout his career, he has focused on building strong, values-driven cultures, developing talent, and ensuring the people behind mission-driven work are supported as well as they support others.
