NBC4 Video:  How bullying readiness plans can help trans and nonbinary youth

Young people face all kinds of pressure from school, friends and a growing social life. For transgender and nonbinary youth, there are many other considerations. Tommy McFly looks at how people in the D.C. area are making bullying readiness plans to help kids avoid or navigate potentially dangerous situations. Tommy spoke at length with Whitman-Walker’s David “D” Cole, a Whitman-walker family care navigator for Youth and Families who is especially attuned to supporting and uplifting trans and nonbinary youth.

Featured in the story are visuals of Whitman-Walker’s “Support for Trans Youth” resource document that can be found on the Community Resources page of our website.
