Whitman-Walker is thrilled to announce that Naseema Shafi, the CEO of Whitman-Walker Health, has been named to Washington Business Journal’s 2024 List of Women Who Mean Business.

In her 17-year tenure, and as CEO since 2019, Naseema embodies our mission to be a place where we see the person first, and a healthcare home where patients are treated with dignity, respect and love.

Under Naseema’s guidance, Whitman-Walker has grown its presence in Southeast DC with a much larger Max Robinson Center on the campus of St. Elizabeths East. The new clinic has allowed us to expand significantly beyond LGBTQ+ and HIV & STI prevention and care… to offer primary medical, dental, checkups for kids ten and up, mental health therapy, a pharmacy, insurance navigation, and much more to all our neighbors in Wards 7 and 8.
