Staff Adolescent Psychiatrist
My name is Matt Salmon and I have been at Whitman-Walker since October 2019 after graduating from my training as a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I am from Arizona, and I studied psychology at Arizona State University before going to medical school at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). I completed my adult psychiatry residency in Phoenix at the county hospital, Maricopa Integrated Health System and then moved to DC to complete sub-specialty, fellowship training at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in child and adolescent psychiatry. I live here in Washington, DC with my pug, Chad. I am recently back in school doing a Master of Health and Public Interest at Georgetown University because I see great need for changing our system in a way that fosters healthy minds from an early age and reduces the stigma that prevents so many from accessing needed care.
