health system

Whitman-Walker Health System (WWHS) is a community health system committed to advancing social justice and equality through health. Formed to support and advance the mission of Whitman-Walker through a more diversified and financially sustainable business model, the Health System oversees and addresses critical system-wide issues of Whitman-Walker Foundation, the philanthropic and community engagement arm; Whitman-Walker Institute, the research, policy, advocacy, and engagement arm, and WWHS Real Property Holdings, the organization’s ownership interest in a major redevelopment joint venture on Washington DC’s 14th NW Street corridor.

WWHS seeks to expand Whitman-Walker’s services, reach, and programs while growing and amplifying a national brand. It seeks to expand expertise, mission, ensuring more lives are touched and impacted. Through oversight of philanthropic efforts through the Foundation, research, policy, advocacy through Institute, and real estate portfolio through Real Property Holdings, WWHS supports long-term sustainability of the organization that identifies new revenue opportunities and entrepreneurial activities across WWHS, and its affiliated entities, including WWH.
