Melissa Sellevaag, LICSW

Manager of Youth Care Navigation

Melissa Sellevaag, LICSW is currently the Manager of Youth Care Navigation at Whitman-Walker Health. She comes to WWH through the collaboration with Metro TeenAIDS where she served as Director of Clinical Services. In both of these positions she provides direction and supervision for programs serving adolescents and families affected by HIV.

Sellevaag’s previous experiences range from direct service provision for families affected by HIV to program development and special initiatives at the District of Columbia’s Department of Health HIV Administration (HAHSTA). A social worker by training, her focus has been on developing and implementing innovative programming to promote healthy outcomes for her clients. She is currently a national trainer with the National Association of Social Workers HIV Spectrum Project.

Sellevaag holds an MA in Counseling from Marist College and a MSW from Catholic University. She is a licensed clinical social worker in Washington, D.C. where she resides with her husband, two children and cat.
