Manager of Behavioral Health Education and Training
My name is Kevin Waldorf-Cruz and I am the Manager of Behavioral Health Education and Training. I work here because of our social justice roots in supporting people living with HIV, people of color, marginalized communities, and people who identify as LGBTQ. I originally started as a volunteer in 1997, interned in 1999, became a medical case manager in 2002, and joined the adult Day Treatment team in 2006. I obtained my master’s in social work from the National Catholic of Social Service, where I studied clinical social work and health policy. I also pursued ongoing education through the George Washington Milken School of Public Health. I manage the Behavioral Health Specialists, the Peer Support Program, and the graduate intern program. My clinical expertise as a psychotherapist is in helping individuals move through trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders. I believe that healing through body, mind, and community is essential for holistic well-being. Outside of Whitman-Walker, I teach yoga, lead body-mind workshops and I am a licensed massage therapist. I am fluent in Spanish.
