My name is David Facenda and I have worked at Whitman-Walker in various roles since 1994. Yep, 1994. I started my affiliation even earlier, back in 1990, when I became a volunteer in what was then Whitman-Walker’s Schwartz Housing Program. The reason I continue to work here is the pleasure I get being around clients and staff that have a shared passion for the mission of Whitman-Walker. My current position, as a psychotherapist, allows me the opportunity to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds; assisting them in achieving their goals toward an improved quality of life. I have lived in DC for over 27 years and love what this city has to offer in terms of the diversity of the people, the variety of cultural and social activities. It’s the big city feel of a not-too-big city.
