My name is Amanda Cary. I am a nurse practitioner and the manager of the Sexual Health department, which includes our free STI testing and treatment services. I provide general primary care, gender affirming care, as well as HIV primary care, and I am an HIV Specialist credentialed through the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Whitman-Walker has been part of my life since 2010 when I first became a volunteer HIV tester and counselor. I completed my nurse practitioner and master€s in public health training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD in 2017. During this time, I also completed an HIV specialty post-baccalaureate program and worked as a nurse on an inpatient HIV and infectious disease unit for 4 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I joined Whitman Walker in 2018 to share in its commitment to HIV and LGBTQ care, as well as to promoting health justice and reducing health disparities.
