Deputy Director of Nursing
I was magnetized to Whitman-Walker as a way to support populations I care deeply about, and build community in an effort to better understand DC. As the Deputy Director of Nursing, I oversee the medical adherence nurse care managers, who provide patients tools to stay actively engaged in their healthcare, and triage nursing/hospitalization tracking, which helps patients make decisions for care based on symptoms and closes the loop from ED and hospital visits back to the primary care setting. In a nutshell, I lead teams of nurses who are compassionate and information-wielding detectives. I originally hail from Pittsburgh. In my free time, I can be found woodworking, hiking, and consuming all of the cheese. I received my Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Pennsylvania State University and am board certified in Public Health and as an HIV/AIDS Certified Registered Nurse. I joined Whitman-Walker in 2008 as the nurse at Bridge Back, our former addictions treatment facility.
