Gay Men’s Health & Wellness/STI Clinic
Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is conducted on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center, 1701 14th St., NW. Services are part of a confidential and comprehensive STI diagnostic process, focused on the clinical needs of men who have sex with men. Testing is also available to women. There is free testing for syphilis and HIV and free screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Hepatitis and herpes services can be provided for a fee. There is free treatment for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Daytime STI Treatment
We offer treatment for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea if you tested positive at Whitman-Walker Health through our Gay Men’s Health & Wellness Clinic (Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center, our daytime walk-in HIV/STI testing services, or as a Whitman-Walker medical patient.
If you tested positive at the Department of Health (DOH), we may also provide you treatment services.
Important: In order to get daytime STI treatment, you must have proof of a positive result from Whitman-Walker or DOH and be at least 18 years old.

Treatment is available at 1525 14th Street, NW from 12-5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Treatment is also available from 3:30-5 pm on Thursdays. Daytime treatment is also available at our Max Robinson Center in Anacostia, call 202.745.7000 for more information.
The Gay Men’s Health & Wellness/STI Clinic
The clinic begins at 5:30 pm. Services are available on a first come, first served basis. This service is entirely run by dedicated volunteers and does not schedule appointments. The number of clients seen varies depending on volunteer staffing for that particular evening. To guarantee a space, it is important to arrive as early as possible to receive a number. Typically, all numbers are distributed by 5:30 pm, sometimes earlier. You should expect to spend between one and two hours going through the process.
The HIV test is a rapid test and the results will be provided during the same night it is performed in clinic. All other test results will be ready eight days from the day of testing by calling 202.745.7000.
