Whitman-Walker accepts health plans from a wide variety of public and private insurance carriers. The table below provides an overview of the insurance that we accept from each carrier. Also, it is important to check with your carrier to confirm that we are a provider prior to scheduling an appointment.
If you do not have insurance, our Public Benefits and Insurance Navigation Team can see if you qualify and help you enroll. Call 202.745.6151.
If we do not participate with your insurance carrier, you will be responsible for the full fee for your services. However, you may have out-of-network benefits. If you do, then you can seek reimbursement from your insurance provider for the fees that you paid Whitman-Walker. Call your insurance provider’s customer service for instructions.
Billing can schedule face-to-face meetings between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Whitman-Walker WeWork Manhattan Laundry location. Please call 202.797.3524 to schedule. You can also call this number if you have questions about the insurance we accept.
Please note effective December 1, 2017, Whitman-Walker Health will accept CareFirst HMO insurance plans. Only BlueChoice HMO plans will be accepted. Learn more about the accepted HMO plan here.
