Title: Chief of Programs

Meghan Davies serves as Whitman-Walker’s Chief of Programs, where she oversees a wide portfolio, including patient legal services, insurance navigation, community health, clinical infrastructure, and therapy-based services. Previously, she served as Chief of Operations and Program Integration, and as Director of Community Health, overseeing all prevention and education activities, including the Breast Health Initiative; HIV counseling, testing and education initiatives (both mobile and clinic-based); Whitman-Walker’s +1 HIV Peer Support Program; Whitman-Walker’s two DEBI interventions (SHIELD and Healthy Relationships); Positive Pathways (a retention and re-capture program focused on African-American women in Wards 5-8); PALS (People Advocating for LGBT Seniors), and our partnership program with Mautner. Before joining Whitman-Walker in 2008, Davies was an HIV prevention volunteer with the Peace Corps, leading a nine-person team responsible for training 200 volunteers on HIV prevention and designing and launching Viviendo Positivamente (Living Positively) to encourage the formation of support groups for people in the region living with HIV and AIDS.

Davies earned her master of public health degree with an emphasis in global health promotion from the George Washington University and her bachelor’s degree in biology, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Virginia. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist.
