Whitman-Walker’s Youth Services testing program offers free HIV, STI, and pregnancy testing to anyone ages 13 and older. Referrals for treatment are provided to clients with positive STI test results. Please call 202.797.4439 for a testing appointment.

What types of tests are available through youth testing services?

HIV Testing—We offer two types of testing. The first test is the INSTI® HIV-1/HIV-2 Rapid Antibody Test with results taking one minute! This test includes a finger prick. The second test available is the OraQuick test with results in 20 minutes. This test includes an oral swab. For those who test positive, immediate assistance is available with a confirmation test, care advocacy, and linkage to medical care and support services.

STI Testing—We offer urine-based STI testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, with results taking 1 to 2 business days. We offer treatment referrals for those who test positive.

STI Self-Test Kits—We offer self-testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia through a Self-Test Kit using oral and rectal swabs. Treatment referrals are available for those who test positive.

Pregnancy Testing—We offer urine-based pregnancy testing with results in 3 minutes. Additional assistance with resources and referrals for carrying pregnancies to term or terminations are available. If you are carrying to term, these services are available whether you plan to parent or enter the adoption process.
