Whitman-Walker’s GMHW Sexual Health & Wellness Clinic offers free testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). If you are experiencing symptoms of an STI or have a known exposure to an STI, call us at 202.745.6175.
Services are part of a confidential STI testing process and are focused on the medical needs of men who have sex with men. Testing is also available to women, and gender-expansive and non-binary individuals! However, the Clinic does not offer pelvic exams or pap smears. The Clinic offers free testing for syphilis and HIV, and free screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Herpes testing can be provided for a fee as the CDC does not recommend herpes screening for people who are not experiencing symptoms. Whitman-Walker offers free treatment for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea, and evaluation and treatment for genital warts.
This Clinic is for persons who are experiencing symptoms of an STI. If you are not experiencing symptoms and want to get tested, please consider Whitman-Walker’s appointment-only STI Self-Testing or getting tested during your next medical visit with us.
The GMHW Sexual Health Clinic (also known as Gay Men’s Health & Wellness Clinic) is the longest-running program at Whitman-Walker Health. Starting back in 1973 as the Gay Men’s VD Clinic, this program serves as the foundation for what Whitman-Walker is today. Whitman-Walker financially supports the free, Sexual Health Clinic and welcomes donations to support the program. If you would like to make a gift, you may donate here.
