The Break Room is a peer group for people who identify as women and who are living with HIV led by one of Whitman-Walker’s Health Educators. The Break Room is open to patients of Whitman-Walker Health and meets monthly. This group provides social support for women by offering opportunities for participants to engage with other women who have “been there, done that.” The group hosts guest speakers, lunches, and other activities to build community. If a patient is experiencing barriers to keeping up with their care and appointments, the Community Health Worker may meet the patient in their own community and bring support services to them. The Break Room meets virtually and in-person at the Max Robinson Center. Contact for more information about The Break Room.
