What is a Capital Walker / Runner?
A Capital Walker / Runner is an AIDS Walk participant who raises $1000 or more. Everyone has the potential to be part of the program!
Why Become a Capital Walker / Runner?
The most compelling reason to become a Capital Walker is because you'll be going above-and-beyond in the support you provide to those most in need of the HIV/AIDS services provided by Whitman-Walker Health! But there are also some great benefits to being a Capital Walker:
Personalized Fundraising Support
As a Capital Walker / Runner, you will receive individual attention from the AIDS Walk staff in support of your ongoing fundraising efforts including phone or in-person fundraising consultations as well as e-mail support .
Increased Opportunities for Additional Incentives
You will be included in special drawings for exciting prizes in the months leading up to AIDS Walk. And if you achieve your $1000 goal, you'll receive a special gift on the day of the Walk (in addition to an AIDS Walk cap and hooded sweatshirt).
Special Recognition at the Event
You will be invited to a VIP breakfast the morning of AIDS Walk where you can relax, mingle with other Capital Walkers and meet our AIDS Walk grand marshals and Whitman-Walker Health leaders. Capital Walkers / Runners will also receive a special "shout-out" from the stage!
