Quality of Care
The Quality Improvement Department supports the mission of Whitman-Walker by providing a framework through which to measure, analyze and improve effective and appropriate care and treatment of its patients. An ongoing assessment of the quality, cost and use of services and a measurement of their outcomes allows Whitman-Walker to plan, monitor, evaluate and improve the services delivered. This process ensures that services are designed to meet the patients’ expressed needs in a timely, safe, caring and respectful way.
Quality activities for Whitman-Walker are overseen by the Director of Quality Improvement, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer. Whitman-Walker’s Board of Directors maintains an active Quality Assurance, Compliance and Risk Management Committee (QACRM), with the Director of Quality Improvement and Chief Medical Officer serving as the staff committee liaisons.
