Legal Services: Special Events
Whitman-Walker Legal Services invites attorneys, law firms, corporations, law schools, legal associations and other community supporters to become involved in our special events dedicated to raising critical funds to support the services that we provide to protect our clients and people living with HIV/AIDS in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Every year we hold Going the Extra Mile, a cocktail reception and awards ceremony. Law firms, corporate law offices and law schools also raise money for Whitman-Walker Legal Services by participating in the annual AIDS Walk Washington. Both events provide opportunities to help us continue to provide desperately needed legal services for people living with HIV/AIDS, the LGBT community, and Whitman-Walker patients generally.
Going the Extra Mile is an annual reception and awards ceremony benefitting Whitman-Walker Legal Services. This year's event will be held on Wednesday, May 29 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Carnegie Institution for Science (1530 P Street, NW).

LCAT is the Legal Community AIDS Walk Task force, a group of legal professionals who volunteer to raise money for the AIDS Walk from the metropolitan-Washington legal community, including regional law schools. Since its inception, LCAT has raised more than $3 million for Whitman-Walker Legal Services in conjunction with the annual AIDS Walk.
AIDS Walk 2012 was a great success, raising more than $1 million in total, and more than $200,000 for Whitman-Walker Legal Services.
